Sonic Sounds
How did Sonic Sounds come to be?
In 1982, I began DJing in skating rinks and then nightclubs in Buffalo NY. A family friend helped me to create the name Sonic Sounds. When I was married, I realized that I no longer wanted to DJ in the clubs so I bought my own equipment and began to mobile DJ at weddings and parties around Western New York. When I moved to Charlotte in 1996, I began to actively seek out clients. The rest, as they say, is history.

How is our family involved?
Music is big in our family. Each of my 3 children learned at a very young age that when Daddy had to DJ, they needed to carry something. This actually occurred around age 4 for each of them. They became “roadies” and would help with set-up and take-down. They also began to recognize song names and artists and were able to quickly make suggestions for what to play next. My wife types up all of the contracts, takes care of mailings, and is also a “roadie”. When we are doing a pool party, everyone in the family is involved with running games and distributing prizes. My oldest son began to be interested in how to DJ when he was in 5th grade. He now has become an assistant as well as a DJ when I am double-booked.
